The Minnesota Limited Breeder’s Futurity and Minnesota Saddlebred Horse Association are excited to announce a new class offering at the 2018 Minnesota Futurity horse show. The Midwest Breeders Jackpot Class is open to 3 and 4-year-old American Saddlebreds that are the offspring of a declared mare in the Limited Breeders Stallion Services Auction in Iowa, Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In addition to entry fees collected for the class, the Minnesota Saddlebred Horse Association has committed to adding $50 to the jackpot for each horse nominated to the Midwest Breeders Jackpot Class. The jackpot is 100 percent paid out.

The class will operate under USEF rules as a recognized but unrated class per USEF GR902.2. It is open to American Saddlebred stallions, mares or geldings that are the offspring of mares declared through stallion services purchased at the 2013 or 2014 auctions in these three states. Entries may be shown in a snaffle or full (or double) bridle, with set or unset tails, with or without trimmed manes and roached tails. Entries shall be shown at the flat or animated walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring, stand quietly in the lineup and back readily.

The nomination fee for this class will be $200 for entries nominated before June 30, or $300 if paid at the show. The Minnesota Futurity Horse show will be held in Winona, Minn. October 5-7, 2018.

If you have questions or interest in nominating an eligible horse, please contact Margaret Easton at 612-618-0285, Stephanie Beckman at 952-412-5812 or Don Tradup at 507-876-2407 for more information. Details can also be found at the Minnesota Saddlebred Futurities Facebook page.
