St. Louis National Charity Adds Veteran Show Pleasure Class to Schedule

The Folds of Honor Foundation funds educational scholarships for children and family members whose military parent or spouse has been killed or disabled in the line of duty. Nationally, there are over 172,000 family members that are affected across the country and more than 85% do not qualify for any type of federal educational funding today. The St. Louis National Charity Horse Show is proud to announce their support for The Folds of Honor Foundation through a brand new class for 2018.

This class will feature “Veteran” Three Gaited Show Pleasure American Saddlebred horses, 11 years and over. To honor and showcase the longevity and competitiveness of the American Saddlebred, and in appreciation of our military veterans, this new division is being introduced to promote our seasoned American Saddlebred show horses. The horse must be turning 11, or older, in the current year of competition. Eleven years was chosen to coincide with Veteran’s Day, which is celebrated annually on November 11th. This class will take place on Thursday evening class 58.1 (following class 58); the entry fee will be $40.00. This class will qualify for either Class 117 – if shown by a Junior Exhibitor or Class 162 if shown by an Adult.

A wonderful selection of awards will be offered in the “Veteran” Three Gaited Show Pleasure American Saddlebred Class. Each ribbon winner will receive a Folds of Honor Cap and the winner of the class will receive a cap as well as a Folds of Honor Bridle. Representatives from The Folds of Honor Foundation will be joining us to take part in the presentation of the special awards.

The St. Louis National Charity Horse Show is excited to offer this new division. More Veterans classes at future shows in Missouri/Kansas are expected, with an American Royal Championship is Kansas City currently planned for November.

Corporate and individual sponsorships are available. Donations of raffle/auction items, gift certificates or any type of gift are also appreciated. Visit www.foldsofhonor.org for more information on the Folds of Honor Foundation, which is a 501©3 charitable organization.
