Published: April 27, 2019

The American Saddlebred Museum is pleased to announce the highly anticipated Equine Art, Antique and Rare Book Auction will take place on Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at the American Saddlebred Museum, located at 4083 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, Kentucky on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park. An auction preview will take place at the Museum from June 3-7, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on June 8 two hours before the auction. A color catalog of the sale is available upon request.

After a two-year hiatus, the auction returns with an excellent selection of equine paintings, posters, books and bronzes. The focus of the auction is particularly Saddlebred items, but coaching, Thoroughbred, Hackney and Morgan artwork are included. The auction draws and specializes in works by George Ford Morris, and has expanded to include any sporting subject by Morris. In addition to Morris, other artists represented in the 2019 auction include W. S. Vanderbilt Allen, John Thomas Berry, Edwin Bogucki, Anne Crawford, Sally McClure Jackson, Maretta Kennedy, Henry Stull, and many other well-known equine artists.

If you are interested in reviewing a 2019 auction catalog, please email amy@asbmuseum or call (859) 259-2746.
