American Academy of Equine Art Workshop

Details
Category: News & Events
Published: August 30, 2019

The AAEA is proud to offer an Equine Sculpture Workshop with Alexa King, the famed creator of “Barbaro” that stands at the entrance to Churchill Downs. The workshop will be held October 21-25 at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

Alexa King is one of the preeminent equestrian sculptors at work today and this workshop is for all levels, beginner to advanced so everyone will be comfortable and welcome. Alexa has done many Saddlebreds and Hackneys including I’m First and Giselle and her Barbaro at Churchill Downs is a crowd favorite.

October should be a beautiful time of year to be in Lexington and side trips to the Fasig Tipton Thoroughbred Sale and Keeneland are planned. Come get your hands in some clay and let Alexa guide you through creating a sculpture of your own horse. Don’t miss this very special opportunity.

For details: www.aaea.net/workshops or email yvonnetodd@aaea.net or sallyjackson@aaea.net.
