The Kentucky State Fair Board voted unanimously Thursday to expand the World’s Championship Horse Show during the Kentucky State Fair from nine days to all 11 days of the Fair. Held in Freedom Hall in partnership with the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA), the show is the largest and richest Saddlebred show in the world. This year’s Fair dates are Aug. 16 – 26.

For this year’s event, the first two days of the horse show will be training/schooling days. Beginning in 2019 and beyond, performances will be held all 11 days.

“For 115 years, this horse show has been the signature event during the Fair and the board voted to give it top billing in Freedom Hall,” said Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Don Parkinson who also serves as interim CEO of Kentucky Venues. “We appreciate the continued partnership of the ASHA as we increase the prestige and prominence of the World’s Championship Horse Show.”

Tickets for the World’s Championship Horse Show go on sale June 20 at the Kentucky Exposition Center Ticket Office and on Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com.
