Join the American Saddlebred Museum for a Weekend Celebration of Tom & Donna Moore
The American Saddlebred Museum is planning a weekend celebration of two legends of our industry, Tom and Donna Moore. The weekend kicks off with the opening of the 2017 exhibit, Legends of the Saddlebred World: The Lives & Times of Tom & Donna Moore. The opening will be held at the Museum’s Showplace for Saddlebreds on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park on Friday, February 24, 2017; from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Attendees will peruse photographs, paintings, trophies, memorabilia, and more from the pair, as well as view a short video on the Moores. Special friends of the twosome, including Nelson Green, Kim Cowart, John Jones, Jack Nevitt, Dave Becker, Don Harris and emcee Jimmy Robertson will be on hand to tell tales on Tom and Donna. Guests will enjoy a “dine-around” of heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar, as well as complimentary wines generously sponsored by Nic DeWet's Leatherwood Wines. Thanks to other generous sponsors, Carson Kressley, Danny Jenner, Bob Ruxer, Jason Gershman, Elizabeth Ghareeb and Marcy Lafferty, tickets for the opening are just $25. Dress is casual.
The celebration of the Moores continues on Saturday, February 25, 2017 with a gala fundraiser at the beautiful and historic Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6:00 p.m., with a sit down dinner at 7:00 p.m. Next will be a special “Storytime at Spindletop”, with Jimmy Robertson again serving as emcee as Bret Day, Jack Nevitt, Dave Becker, Don Harris, and Danette Musselman share more stories about Tom and Donna. Dancing to the sounds of Superfecta will follow. Tickets are $250 or a table for ten may be purchased for $2,000. Tickets purchased for the gala include admission to the Friday night exhibit opening. Black tie optional.
