Denver Queen City Horse Show Continues Its Winning Ways in 2017

The Denver Queen City Horse Show (DQCHS) continues to be the premier horse show in Colorado and beyond. Combined with the Circle J Regional Morgan Horse Show, we offer Morgan Regional Championship classes as well as the Colorado Saddlebred State Championships. Beginning on Wednesday, July 12 and ending on Sunday, July 16, the horse show now also offers a Western Dressage Day on Sunday, July 16. Judging Saddlebred, Saddle Seat Equitation, Open, and Academy classes is Scooter Scheurich from New Orleans, Louisiana and judging Morgan classes is Coby Holowacz from Delhi, New York.

The Centennial State Regional Peruvian Championships will continue to be held at the Denver Queen City Horse Show as well running their own separate sessions. The horse show is held at the National Western Events Center, 1515 East 47th Avenue, Denver, Colorado. This grand facility features a large show ring, warm up arena and stalling all under one roof! It also offers warm water wash racks at the end of every other aisle and electricity at every other stall. Entries close on June 16 and post entries are accepted. Two sessions are held daily at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Each evening will open with a grand entry presentation by the world famous Westernaires!

Queen City encourages out of state barns to come to Denver! All out of state Saddlebred and Morgan barns who bring, enter, and show at least five different horses will be awarded $500 in cash to the trainer! Additional cash prizes are awarded as well. Other cash awards include $250 to the trainer who wins the most blue ribbons and $250 to the trainer who brings the most horses. Additionally, a name will be drawn each night following the evening performance for a $50 cash prize.

Continuing this year are the VIP Ring Side Tables. These tables will offer light snacks and refreshments during each performance and have chairs for 8 people to watch the horse show. Box seating will be available from the start of the show on Wednesday morning to the end of the performance on Saturday afternoon for a fee of $200.

For the third year in a row, the Denver Queen City Horse Show will host the Black Tie – Silver Shoes Charity Dinner on Saturday night during the performance. On this evening, the VIP Ring Side Tables will be converted to a sit down, fine dining charity event. The event will be a delicious steak dinner complete with wine service for the benefit of the Colorado Horsecare Foodbank. Tickets to the dinner are $150 per person or $1,300 per table and are partially tax deductible. Participants in the dinner are encouraged to dress in cocktail attire.

Friday night features the biggest horse show party of the summer, which is free to all show participants! A grand dinner is catered by CaterWest, entertainment is provided by the Colorado American Saddlebred Horse Association. Tony David the Entertainer will be performing again this year, so dancing shoes are a must.

The 49th Denver Queen City Horse Show is a USEF rated show and has something for everyone and hospitality you won’t want to miss! A move-in lunch on Tuesday afternoon is provided by Spring Acres Farm, The Kipper and Perrelli Family, and early move in to the facility is available upon request.
