Midwest Charity Horse Show Adds Classes; Other Updates

Midwest Charity Horse Show is now less than a month out and its numbers are on track to be a completive year. Midwest’s board of directors continues to work hard to ensure its trainers and exhibitors have the best show possible. New class editions include class 52A, ASB Country Pleasure Five Gaited during Wednesday’s matinee and class 125A ASB Country Pleasure Five Gaited Championship during Friday’s matinee. Exhibitors will continue to enjoy the traditional nightly parties in the famous Party Barn, 25Q, Tuesday through Friday after the last class nightly. Those who would like to sponsor a class or one of our nightly parties there are opportunities available but act quickly as they are going fast. Go to http://www.midwestcharity.com to choose your options.

As many know Midwest’s 2017 edition, June 13-17, 2017, will be held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Covered Arena due to the closure of the Coliseum. Midwest Charity’s Board of Directors wanted to provide detail for our trainers and exhibitors about the show arena and additional warm-up rings. These include the Livestock Center for the ease of our barns stabled at the far end of the horse complex as well as the Food-A-Rama adjacent to the Coliseum and of course Barns 13 and 14. Seating in the Covered Arena (now enclosed) will be bleachers on the north side of the building. Vented exhaust fans are on top of the building as well as big ceiling fans throughout the building for added ventilation.

Exhibitors will enjoy seeing their favorite vendors around the horse complex, featuring food, show supplies, clothing and accessories, fine jewelry and artwork. Vendors who were in the Coliseum will relocate to the front of Barn 14, directly across from the Covered Arena and to other nearby locations within the horse complex. The current list of vendors include: A Little Silver Lining, Brown’s Clipper Service, Coliseum Corner, Gunner’s Goodies, Loose Ends Jewelry, Mod Jods, Morris and Sons Harness, Show Horse Tack, Taft’s Concessions and Terry Bennett’s Tack.

Midwest Charity Horse Show’s panel of judges: Michael Craghead, Fresno, Calif.; Sandra Currier, Bellville, Texas; Nancy Troutman, Salem, Va.; and Michael Grimm, Kansas City, Mo. who will judge Arabians. Other distinguished officials include: official videographer, Richfield Video Productions; official photographer, Doug Shiflet Photography; and official veterinarians, Equine Veterinary Service.
