Mane Event Exhibitors Advised to Make Hotel Reservations Now

“We are advising Mane Event exhibitors to make hotel reservations now as a huge conference is on our weekend in Springfield,” said Show Manager Joy Meierhans after arranging room blocks at six hotels for this year. “We have a wide variety of rooms blocked, from $129 studio suites at the brand new Residence Inn by Marriott (off Dirksen Pkwy, near Hilton Garden Inn, which is sold out by the conference) to $69 two-bedded rooms at the Howard Johnson Inn (near the airport).”

Also blocked for Mane Event exhibitors are rooms at Fairfield Inn by Marriott (SW on Veteran’s Pkwy, $99), Ramada Limited North (Sangamon exit off I-55, $89); Microtel (Dirksen Pkwy north of Stevenson exit off I-55, $79); and Quality Inn & Suites (SW on Veteran’s Pkwy, $75).  You must mention Mane Event Horse Show to get the special rates, but most blocks expire three weeks prior to the show, so Meierhans suggests reserving rooms as soon as possible.

In addition to hosting three national finals (“Good Hands,” Pleasure Olympics and AHHS Youth Medallions), Mane Event offers an expansive class list with excellent options for amateurs showing performance and pleasure horses, and boasts ideal facilities for showing young horses. New this year are five AHHS Youth Medallion classes, all scheduled after their respective Finals earlier in the show, and all qualifying for next year’s Finals.  Also new are Country Pleasure Five Gaited and Championship classes.

Mane Event dates have appeared wrong in some places.  Correct dates are October 24-27 (Thursday-Sunday). Prize lists have been mailed, and also are available at www.HorseShowCalendar.com.  To request a printed copy, call Show Manager Joy Meierhans at 630/557-2575; or email JM@TheMeierhans.com. Mane Event is produced by Mid-America Horse Show Association, one of the largest ASHA charter clubs.
