Please take a moment to read this important note S&B received from Rachalle Stezovsky of R&R Stables: “Our American Royal is in trouble. We are very close to losing the facility in the West Bottoms. The decision on what to do with Kemper Arena is coming to the wire. This is the video of the City Council touring Kemper Arena a few weeks ago. The man heading that tour is Dean Barrett , the person in charge of all things tourism and conventions in Kansas City. Also noticed there is a schedule of events in the next month that we as horse people should be paying very close attention to. The American Royal board meets August 14th with the City Council between 9 and noon. Bob Peterson, head of the American Royal would like to ask all concerned horse people to attend this forum. The decision on what to do with Kemper Arena will be made within the next couple of months. A show of solidarity from the horse community may go a long way helping with that decision. If you do come remember they are only interested in income producing options. Anything to do with posterity, history, etc. is of no importance to them. Please pass this important information on to every horse person you can think of in this area.”
