Hall Of Fame Trainer Larry Bacon Passes Away

After a brief illness Larry Bacon of Versailles, Kentucky passed away on February 8, 2012 at the age of 74. Always popular among his peers, Larry was a longtime fixture in the UPHA as well as trainer of numerous World’s and National champions; Bacon Stables have presented some of the industry’s greats in the Hackney and roadster divisions as well as a few top-notch Saddlebreds. His last Saturday night Louisville winner was 2007 Hackney Pony World’s Grand Champion and Four-Year-Old World’s Champion Lord Ovation. He is survived by his wife Barbara and his son, Bradley.
