Time Changes: The UPHA Young Professionals Meeting will be on Friday January 17 from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. View the revised schedule.

Exciting Additions:

Friday January 17, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

The Future of the Professional Horse Trainer- A must attend meeting about the Future of the Professional Horse Trainer – Jennifer Taylor, presenter

Grand Ballroom – 7th Floor

 

Saturday January 18 in the Grand Ballroom – 7th Floor

1:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. Understanding the MOS System - A comprehensive explanation of how exactly the tabulation of a 3 judge panel works, including how it compares to the systems before, how ties are broken, and one can win without a first place vote. Panelists are: Kevin Michael, Sandy Backer, Cheryl Rangel and Bill Whitley.

 

2 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Western and Hunter in today’s Saddlebred and Morgan Show World. What to look for in a young prospect , as well as in an older show horse to give it a new division to extend its show career. Panelists will discuss this as well as how to start them or to convert them to these divisions. Panelists are : Nealia McCracken, Sheri Brandl, Tom Thorpe, and Jessica Bodnar. Don’t miss the chance to learn more about these rapidly growing divisions.

 

2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. “If I knew then what I know now”- A frank and honest discussion with legendary trainers, Dr. Alan Raun, Debbie Foley, Stan Bodnar, Jan Lukens, Jeanette Durant and Jim Taylor. These horsemen will share their experiences of what they’ve done that both worked, and more importantly didn’t work with the horses and the businesses they ran. Emphasis will be placed on learning from their mistakes and successes along with their views on the industry both now and in the future.

 

Hotel Parking is $25.00 a day for registered UPHA Guest only.
