ASHAM to celebrate Wing Commander’s birthday
The American Saddlebred Horse Association of Michigan invites you to join us in celebrating Wing Commander’s 70th Birthday. The event will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, Michigan. This is his birthplace and the home of the original Dodge Stables. Meadow Brook Hall represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-Revival architecture in America and is an important part of Saddlebred history.
It is the largest historic house museum in the Midwest, standing at the grand scale of 88,000 square feet and is filled with original art and furnishings, including what has been said is the largest oil painting done by George Ford Morris. Many of the original barns and the arena still stand on the property that is now home to Oakland University. The evening will begin with cocktails from 5:30 – 6:30 and will include tours of the mansion, exhibit, strolling dinner, music and dancing in the ballroom along with a cash bar.
Tickets will be limited to the first 200 reservations received and are $75.00 per person. Reservation deadline is March 1, 2013.
