ASHA of New Jersey announces scholarship opportunity

The American Saddlebred Horse Association of New Jersey is pleased to announce the continuation of a scholarship to be presented to a deserving student member of our organization who demonstrates commitment to Saddlebreds, sportsmanship, community service and a healthy life style.

The attached application includes a description of the criteria that will be used for the selection of the recipient. The recipient will require two letters of recommendation with a third letter being optional.

All letters are to comment on the applicant’s motivation, respectfulness, enthusiasm, and overall character. In addition each letter should comment on specific areas such as, but not limited to:

¬    Letter from a teacher or administrator: academic commitment, organizational skills, demonstrated effort to achieve
¬    Letter from a member of ASHA of NJ:  ASHA of NJ participation, dedication  to Saddlebreds
¬    Optional letter from the applicant’s academy instructor: commitment to developing riding skill, horsemanship,

The person writing the letter should identify the capacity in which they know the applicant, i.e. teacher, ASHA of NJ member, academy instructor, etc.  The person should place the letter in an envelope with his/her signature across the sealed flap and give the letter to the applicant to be included with the application.  ONLY SEALED ENVELOPES WITH INTACT SIGNATURE SEALS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
