Lowry Stables and Wish for Our Heroes Pay Tribute to Our Troops and the American Saddlebred this Veteran’s Day

IMG_0209Jim and Fay Lowry have partnered with military charity, Wish for Our Heroes, to recognize not only the history and tradition between our U.S. military and the American Saddlebred, but the opportunities for the breed to benefit our men and women who serve.

American Saddlebred Museum Art Contest returns

 2013 Young Adult Winner by Kenna Al-SayedThe Museum’s Young Adult Committee is once again hosting an Art Contest! The contest will be divided into two categories: Photography and Art (in any media). Each category will be divided into three age divisions: Youth (14 & under), Youth (15-18) and Young Adult (19-35).

Show Jumping and American Saddlebred Five-Gaited Swap at AllTech National Horse Show

Four World’s Champion American Saddlebred trainers will be teamed up with four Grand Prix Show Jumping riders during the Alltech National Horse Show to compete for top awards.

Gayle Lampe takes reservations for winter clinic

Gayle Lampe is conducting a saddle seat riding clinic at William Woods University December  14th – 20th, 2013. Riders are welcome to come for as many days as they wish, however, it is recommended to stay for at least three days. Riders will ride twice on some days and three times on other days. Barn visits to saddle horse training stables in the area and a variety of lectures will be included.

Marjorie Fergusson passes away

Marjorie Fergusson, mother of Jeanne Pettry and grandmother of Donna, Kristen, Andrew, and Tom D. Pettry, passed away peacefully the afternoon of October 6th. Arrangements will be detailed as they are made available. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Pettry family.

Roberta “Bobbie” Ann Antonacci passes away

Roberta “Bobbie” Ann Antonacci, 79, died at 6:58 p.m. on Sunday September 29, 2013 at her home.

Bobbie was born on May 20, 1934 in Springfield. She married Pasquale “Patrick” Antonacci on October 27, 1956 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on March 27, 2007.

St. Louis National Charity Horse Show Update

The weather in St. Louis has taken a turn for the best. The yellow mums are in place, the party boxes have been set up and final decorations will be complete by Monday. It must be time for the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show!  Horses and trainers will begin to arrive on Monday morning with the official show commencing on Wednesday morning.

Special trophy to be dedicated at St. Louis National

Beth Oliver has graciously donated a beautiful trophy to the winner of Saddle & Bridle’s Hunt Seat Classic. The CH Kansas City Memorial Trophy will be kept by the winner of the finals for one year in honor of the her great champion CH Kansas City whose record in Saddle & Bridle’s Finals is unmatched.

Monterey Springfest announces 2014 dates

Boone County Horse Show announces judges

The Boone County Horse Show will be held October 17-19, 2013 at the Central Missouri Events Center in Columbia. The performance judge will be Jon Walker of Clover, South Carolina and Alohana Jackson of Cloverdale, Indiana will handle the Academy Division. This show features American Saddlebreds, Morgans, Arabians, open breed classes and an expanded Academy Division.
