Gayle Lampe is conducting two saddle seat riding clinics at William Woods University on June 26-29th and August 7-10th. Riders will ride twice on two days and three times on two days. Barn visits to saddle horse training stables in the area and a variety of lectures will be included.
The American Saddlebred Registry is pleased to announce their new survey.
The survey, which takes under ten minutes to complete, asks a series of questions related to American Saddlebred ownership and foal registrations. The survey is designed to gather information that will help the Registry to better serve their customers. The results of the survey will be discussed at the July American Saddlebred Registry Board of Directors meeting.
The United States Equestrian Federation is announcing an exciting contest for Saddle Seat riders, sponsored by Freedman’s Harness and Saddlery.
From today, May 1, through May 19, contestants are asked to create a short video that answers the question, “What would it mean to you to be on a Saddle Seat World Cup team?”
Midwest Charity Horse Show, held June 10-14, 2014, at the Illinois State Fairgrounds has split class number 63, ASB Three Gaited Country Pleasure, Jr. Exhibitor, 17 & Under. The class will be split by age into class number 63, ASB Three Gaited Country Pleasure Jr. Exhibitor 14-17 and class number 63A, ASB Three Gaited Country Pleasure Jr. Exhibitor 13 & Under. The Championship, class number 177, ASB Three Gaited Country Pleasure, Junior Exhibitor Championship will remain unchanged.
Rob Byers, Adam Clauson and Marsha Shepard will judge the 12th annual Mid-America Mane Event Show, October 23-26 (Thursday-Sunday) at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield.
Midwest held June 10-14, 2014, at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, with daily show times of 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. has added three classes to the regular schedule because of their popularity last year. Classes include class 55, Five Gaited, Amateur Masters, Rider 50 & Over; class 30, ASB Five Gaited Show Pleasure, Masters, Rider 50 & Over; and class 156 ASB Five Gaited Show Pleasure, Masters, Rider 50 & Over Championship. The Masters Five Gaited Show Pleasure and Championship were two of the biggest and most exciting classes of the show.
The Board of the UPHA Chapter 5 Horse Show and AMP Horse Show Services are pleased to announce a Trainer’s Jackpot at the 2014 edition, held May 7-10 at the Hale Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. Borrowing from the success of UPHA Chapter 3/4 at the Madison Classic, Chapter 5 will be offering a $100 cash prize at the end of each evening session. Every trainer listed on an entry blank will be eligible for this cash prize, but the winner must be present to win! If the winning ticketholder is not there to claim their prize, another name will be drawn. On Saturday night, the grand finale will be a $200 drawing!
The Southern Saddlebred Spring Fling Horse Show will be held April 24-26, 2014 at the Tennessee Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, TN. This is the second annual Spring Fling show, and the 4th show produced by Southern Saddlebred Sales, Inc with expert management provided by Scarlett Mattson and Scott and Beth Snider. Nancy Troutman of Salem, VA will judge a full line up of American Saddlebred, Hackney, and Roadster classes. Amy Dix Rock of Franklin, TN will officiate the Academy division.
Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Melinda Moore will now join Tré Lee and Tim Roesink on the three-judge panel at the UPHA Chapter 5 Horse Show. Ms. Moore will judge the Saddlebred, Hackney, and Equitation divisions. Tré Lee will judge the Saddlebred division, while Tim Roesink will judge Saddlebreds and Morgans.
The JD Massey Classic Board of Directors is pleased to announce added money and prizes in the Three-Gaited and Five-Gaited Jackpot Stakes. This year’s event will feature the “Jackpot” format for the first time, with qualification not required to show in these two signature Stake classes.
