UPHA Chapter 5 officials announced

UPHA Chapter 5 Chair Robert Gardiner and Show Manager Tuffy Owens announce Nelson Green as the judge for the 2013 UPHA Chapter 5 Horse Show. Kelly McFaul will serve as the Show Secretary. This year’s event will be held May 8-11, 2013 in the Hale Arena at the American Royal Complex in Kansas City, MO.

ASHAM to celebrate Wing Commander’s birthday

The American Saddlebred Horse Association of Michigan invites you to join us in celebrating Wing Commander’s 70th Birthday. The event will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, Michigan. This is his birthplace and the home of the original Dodge Stables. Meadow Brook Hall represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-Revival architecture in America and is an important part of Saddlebred history.

U.S. Claims Both Gold Medals at Saddle Seat World Cup

On Saturday, December 8, the Saddle Seat World Cup sponsored by Impondo Mining and Live 2 Learn concluded with second round performances from the Three-Gaited sections of the Saddle Seat World Cup teams. After a stellar presentation of rail work, the U.S. Three-Gaited team set the stage for leading pattern work scores in both groups. With strong performances all week, hopes were high that both the U.S. Three- and Five-Gaited sections would bring home the Gold medals.

Mike Schallock passes away

Well-known exhibitor Mike Schallock of Delafield, Wisconsin has passed away at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Mike along with his wife Jane, showing out of Rick Wallen Stables, have been fixtures at horse shows all over the upper Midwest for many, many years and Mike showed often, including this past season, at age 89, winning Roadster Pony classes at ASAW Summerfun, Mid America Signature and the Madison Classic with Heartland Picture Perfect and Seamair Strutter. His last show ring appearance was at the Wisconsin Futurity in September.

U.S. Riders Ready To Compete at Saddle Seat World Cup

The U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup Team in South Africa.

Ten riders and four coaches will represent the U.S. at the Saddle Seat World Cup in Parys, South Africa on December 5-8. The team made up of two sections, Three-Gaited and Five-Gaited, will compete against four other countries as they vie for top honors in saddle seat equitation.
