Hackneys Needed for Breyerfest 2012

The American Hackney Horse Society is requesting your presence at the 2012 BreyerFest British Invasion! BreyerFest is an annual model horse collector’s festival and horse fair featuring award-winning equine entertainments, Breyer-inspired crafts and activities, and fun for the whole family! This year’s event is expected to have record breaking attendance, so be a part of this fun-filled, action-packed Family Entertainment! This is a great venue for our Hackney!

Missouri Trainer Bill Sutton Passes Away

Well known Missouri  Saddlebred trainer Bill Sutton, 85, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away on May 21 2012. He is survived by his wife, Joan, and his three Daughters, Gwyen, Gail and Geri and their familes all of Kirksville.  In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up memorials in Bill’s name for various Saddlebred organizations in the future.

Denver Queen City Horse Show on a Roll in 2012

The Denver Queen City Horse Show is on a roll in 2012!  The prestigious Colorado Saddlebred State Championships and the Centennial State Regional Championship Peruvian Championships are held at the horse show. Judging Saddlebred, Academy and Open classes this year is Billy Jarrell from Versailles, Kentucky. Peruvian Horses will be judged by the honorable Ernesto Sandigo from Yuma, Arizona. The horse show is held at the National Western Events Center, 1515 East 47th Avenue, Denver, Colorado.

Saddlebred World Loses Bill Hammerlund

Albert William Hammerlund, “Bill”, age 79 of Independence, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012.

He was born April 19, 1933 to Albert and Eleanor (Sawyer) Hammerlund in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bill was the owner of Hammerlund Manufacturing located in Hopkins, Minnesota for over 53 years.  He was active in the American Saddlebred Horse Association as an owner/exhibitor/breeder for over 50 years.

Kent Swalla replaces Lewis Eckard as judge for Syracuse International

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Lewis Eckart will not be judging Syracuse International this year. The show management welcomes Kent Swalla as judge for the show which will take place June 27 – 30th at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, New York.

Judges Announced For 2012 All American Horse Classic

The judges for the 2012 All American Horse Classic are Sandra Currier, John Jones, Brent Jacobs, Mark Wilson, and Betsy Boone.

The All American Horse Classic will be held Tuesday, September 4 through Saturday, September 8, 2012 in the Pepsi Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sandra Currier of Bellview, Texas, John Jones of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Brent Jacobs of Georgetown, KY will judge the Saddlebred, All American Weanling and Three-Year-Old Cups, American Saddlebred Futurity of Indiana, Friesian, Roadster, and English Pleasure divisions.

Bobbin Hollow Farm Hires Jennifer Lalone Mason as Assistant Trainer/Instructor

Bobbin Hollow Farm is pleased to announce its recent hire of Jennifer Lalone Mason, who will join the Bobbin Hollow Team as Assistant Trainer & Instructor. Within this role, Jennifer will be assisting Woodrow W. Henry and Lark R. Henry with training duties and instruction to our show team members, as well as taking over the Academy Program.
