Gayle Lampe is conducting two three-day saddle seat clinics this summer at William Woods University in Fulton, MO. The dates are as follows: Friday, May 25 – Sunday, May 27 and Thursday, June 28 – Saturday, June 30. A maximum of six riders will be accepted for each clinic and they will ride three times on two days and two times on one day. In addition to riding, there will be visits to nearby Saddlebred show barns.
Bob Davis – Robert Halley Davis Jr., 74, of Clark County, Kentucky, retired Hinkle Contracting customer service representative, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012.
Bob Davis was a longtime breeder, trainer, and supporter of the American Saddlebred breed, as well as the manager of the Bourbon County Horse Show.
The judges for the 2012 Mid-America Mane Event Horse Show have been announced.
Jane Bennett, Paul Cates, and Sandra Lilly will judge the 10th annual Mid-America Mane Event Horse Show, held Thursday, October 18 through Sunday, October 21 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield.
Junior Exhibitors, Midwest Charity Horse Show will offer both American Saddlebred Horse Association Foundation Junior Exhibitor Driving Challenge classes at this year’s show.
The USEF Hackney Committee has selected the six competitions at which heel measurements will be required of Roadster Pony and Hackney Roadster Pony Championship classes as defined by USEF Hackney and Roadster Division rules.
For the first time in the 107-year show history, the World’s Championship Horse Show will host the Four-Year Old American Saddlebred Registry Sweepstakes at the 2012 Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show.
The competition has previously been held at the All-American Horse Classic in Indianapolis.
Celebrate 2013 at the UPHA Convention – Las Vegas. Moved to the traditional dates of the first weekend in January, the 2013 convention will be held at the celebrated Caesars Palace Luxury Hotel on the world famous Las Vegas Strip.
William Woods University hosted the United States Saddle Seat World Cup Selection Trials Saturday, March 31, and 32 of the strongest saddle seat competitors in the U.S. proved their mettle in front of a packed audience. The riders were vying for an opportunity to represent their country in the 2012 Saddle Seat Equitation World Cup in Parys, South Africa, in December.

Kalarama Farm recently reported the passing of the nine-time World’s Champion Harlem Globetrotter. Born April 28, 1980, Globetrotter was by New Yorker and out of the incomparable Putting On Airs (BHF). He left his mark on the industry during his 32 years, siring more than 700 horses and leaving behind a legacy that includes 149 Louisville ribbon winners and 31 Saddlebred Record Champions.
