AHA Presents Committee Findings Regarding USEF Affiliation

David Mount, Glenn Petty and Nancy Harvey. At 8:30 on Thursday morning during the World's Championship Horse Show, American Saddlebred leadership met at the Crowne Plaza hotel to listen to an Arabian Horse Association (AHA) report regarding continued association with the United States Equestrian Federation.

During this breakfast meeting, AHA President Nancy Harvey and EVP Glenn Petty discussed their USEF Ad Hoc Committee Report/Feasibility Study, which concluded on August 2.

More than 30 people were on hand to hear their presentation, including the ASHA board, members of the Joint Leadership Council and a few additional ASHA members.

The AHA voted to remain with USEF for the time being, but to continue studying the feasability of the AHA/USEF relationship via another ad hoc committee.

In addition to the AHA representatives, American Saddlebred Horse Association President David Mount was on hand to answer questions during the presentation as well.

"I thought it would be good for people understand that all the USEF affiliates have similar concerns," David said. "The AHA is further along in coming up with alternatives than we currently are, and I thought it was important for everybody to hear their process and what they're going through"

The AHA presentation will be discussed at upcoming meetings of the ASHA board and Joint Leadership Council.
